When people describe upbeat, fun and unapologetically expressive music, they often call it youthful or exciting. It’s the youth who bring a carefree freedom and energy to music. Young praise can make you feel ageless and inspired. Many gospel artists started their music journeys in their youth. Gospel recording artists Tye Tribbett and Jekalyn Carr lit up the airwaves while still teenagers.

Although being young can brand you as fresh and blossoming, it also carries with it the responsibility of growing and accomplishing while still under the spotlight of church and community. But that’s the beauty of supporting young worshippers. Although that is the journey young worshippers take, we can go with them, and as they grow, their praise becomes deeper.

AJ Evans, the youngest member of the Enon Music Group family, grew up in church. He’s been passionate about music since age three. That’s when he began singing with the young adult choir at his local church. Every Sunday morning, you could find AJ at rehearsals with his parents. His family always encouraged his God-given talent.

AJ’s album Not 2 Young is a rallying cry to young people. A few lyrics from the title track are:

Not too young to serve you

Not too young to life you high

Not too young to praise you

Not 2 Young is a song that encourages young people and older generations to serve the Lord and lift Him high. It’s one of many tracks AJ actually wrote himself. This debut album earned him a Stellar nomination! AJ’s love for Jesus Christ fuels the fire of his faith. Though his music career is still blooming, AJ continues his journey as a college student at Howard University and a youth worship leader at Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church in Philadelphia. Not 2 Young is available in our shop.
