Robert Copeland’s musical journey started at the age of 5 when he began leading songs in the adult choir at his church, this sparked a fire in him that would be lasting. It was church and local event performances that paved the way for Copeland to hone his musical craft. At the of 12, Robert was called to open at an event where Dr. Maya Angelou was the guest speaker. Captivated by such “a large voice in a little guy,” Dr. Angelou encouraged Robert to never give up on his dreams and that sparked the fire for his musical desire. In 2001 Copeland moved to Charlotte, NC where he met singer, pastor and childhood idol, John P. Kee under Kee is where Copeland nurtured and cultivated his gift. Some of Copeland’s musical credits include a cover of the Soul Seekers’ song, “I GOT IT” now at 300k views on YouTube, performed by the JSU Singers, also to his claim a song ‘Thy Will’ from John P. Kee presents V.I.P Live in Miami album ft. legendary soprano vocalist Shelia Lakin and Copeland. In 2007 Copeland became a published songwriter under BMI, where also in that year he wrote and arranged two songs on an album entitled “Seasons of Praise.” In 2012, Copeland obeyed God and began focusing on his own music ministry which resulted in the release of his first album featuring Zacardi Cortez entitled: No Distance.
